Bad breath (halitosis) – prevent and cure
All we are chatting with someone whose bad breath could remove the skin of the face of Superman. And let's be honest, we have all been at the other end of things, where everyone in a radius of ten meters seems inexplicably lost consciousness. In my own case, this tends to be once drank a glass or two and it is easy to convince people to collapse in response to my polite cheerful spirit (Ok, maybe after more than two drinks).
The important point is that if we are aware of the problem can do something to heal and become more healthy – and if we understand the causes of the problem, we can do something well,
There are essentially two types of halitosis (bad breath): short term and chronic (long term). (Get used to the media because, given the way that I bother, I think many of them use
In the short term halitosis is caused by food and drink. I do not speak the garlic or curry, which has the flavor not know when to pack up and leave you alone, I mean things like coffee and cheese, leaving behind a nauseating smell has nothing like the original substance. So, if immersion pieces of cheese in the cafe, he has a problem – more than a title! (Sorry for the exclamation point, I hate it! Exclamation! Do more hooks! But I do not want anyone to think that is a hazardous condition is characterized by the repetition of the cheese sauce – although it may be!)
Halitosis is caused by one or more of the following:
1. Poor oral hygiene – leading to food stagnation, accumulation of plaque, dental caries, gingivitis (infected gums) and periodontal disease (infection of the gums very badly with the loss of bone supporting the teeth).
2. Or persistent habits behavior such as smoking or diet.
3. Postnasal drip (catarrh).
4. Medical illnesses.
And I must tell you, numbers 1 and 2 are the shape, way at the top of the 3 and 4. If you have chronic bad breath, chances are overwhelming that you are proposing is not the holding mouth not clean enough or do something to hurt you. This, of course, is bad, one way, but good in another, because you can do something else – if you know what to do.
Incidentally, while I smugly pontificating about self harm, let me draw your attention to the section on bone loss in the previous list. There are probably worked because if enough bone is lost, teeth loosen. Lose enough bones and teeth are lost, or become a nuisance as you want to remove. In the human body, there is nothing wrong in isolation.
As this is a self-help room and two post-nasal drops and general conditions require a medical professional I will to come here. If you care as I am about to suggest and still have a problem, consult your dentist or soon to your family doctor.
ORAL HYGIENE MATTERS
We assume that the smell is coming from inside the mouth instead of by mouth in other places. There are three possible sites:
1. The gums.
2. His teeth.
3. Your language.
RUBBER
People talk of gum disease as something that could catch, if you're unlucky – like the flu or Ebola. Sorry, but this is how it is. In most cases, if you have gum problems because, for a long period of time, you is not something you did. None of us like to blame our own shortcomings and not explain to us late for work because an alien mothership sprayed the bus, to apologize, because we could not be Arsed out of bed this morning. Well, you can either a fault bad hair day on "computer problems".
Healthy gums are firm, pink and speckled, like the peel of orange (just outside of 'pink', indicating an orange bit healthy). So, if all areas of the gums are too soft, bright red or has a problem. Bleeding is another warning sign of gingivitis. Despite what some might say, the gums do not bleed more likely than, say, eyes or nipples. Nobody, apart from an action movie, do not have account of blood ran down his face and soaking their shirts, but inside the mouth is less visible, and diluted by saliva and swallowed. It's easy to forget the blood, It is not in your face (although, of course, is literally in the face).
Well, as you've probably gathered by now, we talk about mistakes. Same healthy human mouth is infested with bacteria. Several of them are harmless and some are good – but the bad are difficult and rarely lost an opportunity to wreak havoc. We give them the possibility that every time we leave food in your mouth.
Bacteria live in the mouth digest food debris and plaque to a viscous gel which prevents harmful bacteria and their products in contact with the teeth and gums. Over time, using minerals from the saliva to build a solid defensive bunker – A hard shell known as name plaque. So it really can destroy the work of union between the teeth and gums in Nice protected when the brush can not reach them.
Gums infected discharge from a variety of smelly liquid (hands to anyone who wants to see the next lot saddo lack of Fame in "I'ma celebrity, drink a cup of pus).
Once tartar forms, we need to pass a hygienist for you. The dentist also can remove tartar, but speaking as a member of this profession, I must admit that an official will make a much better job of it – and show you how to stop the construction calculus again.
Remember what I said about all the bad things be related? Inflammation of the gums recede. So if you spent a lot of money on veneers, crowns or bridges, these restorations will not run well when the gums have shrunk away from them and there are bare root surface in sight. This usually occurs long before the teeth are lost and begin to move.
So, if you keep your teeth clean (especially between the two – as have to floss or interdental brush) should have healthy gums and prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease. Antiseptic mouthwash to help, but they are a substitute for physical elimination plate.
Which brings us to another very good "scent site.
TEETH
Tooth decay is the destruction of tooth structure by bacteria. It occurs when foods containing sugars (eg, bread, cereals, milk, pop, fruit, pastries and sweets) are left in teeth. Oral bacteria to digest food and how to plate (remember that the sticky gel that prevents bacteria and acid in contact with the teeth?) Thus, while errors are the destruction of the gums, acids are working to dissolve the enamel of teeth and holes. It is an efficient system.
Left untreated, these cavities become larger and deeper, the destruction of tooth structure and kill the living part of the tooth (pulp). If the structure the tooth has been destroyed enough tooth crumble. When the tooth dies, you get an abscess – which, if you do not know, not fun.
And while all this happens, food debris collects in the cavities. Unless you can remove all (which is not easy because the cavities are made ideal storage containers for junk) food rot stuck – and add to smell.
To prevent dental caries:
• Reduce the number of acidic drinks and sweets, especially those that are sticky on the teeth longer.
• Brush your teeth as soon as possible after eating – but do not brush during Half – one hour after a drink acid (such as soft drinks or fruit juices). The acid in the drink softened enamel so that the brush can rub some distance. Instead, rinse your mouth with water and wait – and never have a drink acid, just before going to bed.
• Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. This is especially important before bedtime because they produce less saliva during sleep and saliva is the defense of nature against bacteria and acids.
• Clean between your teeth daily with floss or interdental brushes.
• If you live in an area of water fluoridated, ask your dentist about fluoride supplements. Fluoride strengthens the enamel, making it more resistant to acid attack.
• Chew sugarless gum to stimulate saliva production.
• Ask your dentist about sealants crack (a protective coating that can be applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth.)
• See your dentist regularly so that problems can be found in the initial stage, when had less damage and treatment is simple.
Research is constantly seeking new ways to prevent and treat dental caries. One day can be possible to restore the mouth of all the 100% health, with a pill. Until then, follow the above rules.
The third site of bad breath is the tongue
If you were to enlarge the surface of the tongue, you'd see is a bit like a shag carpet (only available in a smaller range of colors). Bacteria and food debris between the filaments and can contribute to a bad smell.
Help mouthwash, but really just mask the problem. You need to brush – or zero smoothly – your language. Special brushes and scrapers are available for this and most toothbrushes are corrugated the back of the head designed for this purpose (yes, That's what they are for). It may take a little getting used to and should not try to go too far (because, apart from anything else, vomiting is very acidic and bad for teeth), but perseverance will pay.
SMOKING
The link between smoking and heart disease, stroke, emphysema and cancer (in particular, knowledge of lung and throat cancer) is common, but smoking also has direct effects on the mouth
- Increase the risk of developing oral cancer.
• Increase the buildup of plaque and tartar on teeth.
• Increased risk of develop gum disease, the leading cause of tooth loss, as it destroys the jaw bone.
• Increased incidence and rate of the reverse of the gums, discover the roots of teeth become sensitive and more susceptible to decay.
• Delayed healing after periodontal treatment, dental extraction or oral surgery.
• Low – pass rate for procedures dental implants. This may be so strong that many surgeons refuse to provide implants for smokers, but focuses on cases that are more likely to work.
• inflammation of the salivary gland openings.
• Discoloration of teeth and fillings.
• And the land of bad breath.
Mechanisms by which (the snuff snuff and other products such as snuff and snuff) causes many problems are well known. If you want know about them, there is no shortage of information on paper and online.
SCHEME
Low-carb diet like Atkins is known to cause bad breath. Normally the body burns carbohydrates as an energy source, but if not available, it burns fat. It is an effective way to lose weight, but process burn fat produces chemicals called ketones are released in the breath.
Thus, in this case, halitosis is not an oral hygiene problem (unless you are not very clean, of course) and only remedy is the introduction of some carbohydrates in your diet.
You can, however, reduce or at least hide the smell by:
• Drink more water to dilute the concentration of ketone bodies.
• The water around whistling in the mouth after eating.
• sugarless gum.
• Sugar-free mints eggs – especially those that contain xylitol, which can kill bacteria and help prevent cavities.
Chewing fresh parsley.
Ketones on the breath can also be a sign of uncontrolled diabetes control. Therefore, I repeat, if you get a smell you can not explain, please do not ignore them. I do not like to lose a reader.
So to round up:
1. Having all in your mouth clean and keep clean – you may need professional help to create a stable environment, health status, but you should be able to hold from there (if you follow all instructions).
2. Examine your habits and watch your diet.
If there is still a problem, it probably means you're missing something. However, it could point to something more serious – if you get an extract.
And the world around you is a place of tranquility and beauty.
